Who we are
The Integrated Livestock Study Group – GEPI was created on August 23, 2013, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso Campus Sinop, when professorsDoctors Dalton Henrique Pereira It isBruno Carneiro and Pedreira idealized the creation of a study group in search of increasing knowledge beyond the classroom, integrating students, teachers and researchers from UFMT, Embrapa Agrossilvipastoril and other teaching and research institutions that work with forage farming and pasture, nutrition and ruminant production and integrated systems. The project took shape, with weekly meetings to discuss scientific articles with themes related to conventional animal production and integrated systems.
Currently, GEPI is linked to MT Estudos, in the Thematic Groups section of the MT Science Extension Program – A new concept in university extension (https://www.mtciencia.com.br/) this program aims to disseminate and disseminate the results and technologies developed in laboratories, to the entire society, whether academic or not. Participation in GEPI provides academics with involvement in teaching, research and extension activities according to their affinities, to strengthen their skills and competencies. Among the members are undergraduate and postgraduate students who actively participate in research projects carried out at UFMT, Embrapa and partner companies, as well as students from other institutions who carry out their internships at these institutions under the supervision of professors involved in coordinating the group. One of the group's most important activities is the holding of the Integrated Livestock Symposium - SIMPI, an event that takes place every two years, with its first edition being held in October 2014.
